Description

Usually on Kotanto, I adapt the blade morphology for utility use, notably by widening its height. This is not the case with this model, which retains the proportions of a classic tanto. This makes it a kotanto more for the table than for heavy bushcraft work.

A blade that aims for simple elegance, to be taken out for a meal, a bbq or even placed on the table in a restaurant for the more daring.

A few kiridashi marks remain on the wood: the memory of the gesture, the signature of traditional methods.

My blades are forged from carbon steel, which gives them an incomparable sharpness. Carbon steel sharpens easily, evolving and developing a patina over time. However, it requires a little more maintenance to stay in perfect condition.

My handles and saya are made from local natural wood. I use traditional assembly and treatment methods that improve durability and are entirely chemical-free.
